The Murder Scene: June 17, 1966

The body of Fred "Cedar Grove Bob" Nauyoks sits at the Lafayette Grill bar less than an hour after he was killed. Nauyoks apparently never knew what hit him, because his foot is still on the bar stool and a burning cigarette was found between the fingers of his dangling arm [closeup]. A used shotgun shell can be seen just a couple of feet to his right [view closeup of shell], and Willie Marins' blood is on the floor behind the stools. Marins played dead after being shot in the head and is the only person who survived the shootings. This is believed to be the first time this picture has been published.

Nauyoks was sitting in that same seat in an earlier snapshot . Also see a snapshot of the bartender Oliver.
